Summary0000817: Enhancement Request - Network/Settings/IP Settings - Permanent DNS Override
DescriptionPlease allow the option to permanently override the DNS settings under Settings / IP Settings in the Network app. As currently designed and documented, the DNS override settings will revert on next reboot if the interface receives network settings via DHCP. I would prefer to permanently use different DNS settings than those provided by my ISP. I realize this could be done by manually editing network configuration files but this should be permitted through the webgui. My recommendation is that once DNS Override is selected in webgui, there be a checkbox for "Make Permanent" on the DNS settings page. The main settings page should also display "Pemanent Override" or "Temporary Override" in the DNS section of the DNS along with the current DNS IP addresses so status is known.

It already exists in 7.5 but you have to remember to uncheck the checkbox for **all** DHCP interfaces. A new issue will be raised to simplify this.
