Summary | 0008011: Do not allow a Community restore on a Business system
Description | Using a configuration backup from a Community Edition on to a Business or Home Edition is ... bad. The underlying drivers (master/slave mode, performance tuning, etc.) get downgraded or stomped on. Configuration backup should not allow such a restore.

Perhaps not the right place for a comment, but doesn't ClearOS only become Community Edition 30 days after installation? Does that mean that if you have a disaster and have to reload a machine from scratch then restore a backup, a CE user would have to wait 30 days before he could do a configuration restore? That does not seem right! |

A CE user can do a Community Edition restore at any point. The only difference between a 30-day or younger Community Edition and an older one is the access to the verified repositories. After 30 days, the verified repos are disabled and the normal Community Edition repos are put in place. This is done on the fly with the yum plugin. |
