The nice download progress bar that you see in Marketplace can be dropped in very quickly -- literally in just a few minutes. However, the "Software Updates" app would then depend on a piece of non-ClearFoundation software (Marketplace and the underlying yum-plugin belong to ClearCenter). The Community Edition has a mandate to remain free and 100% open source, so it's not possible to just use the Marketplace widget and the accompanying yum plugin. A task has been added to create a "Verified Updates" app for the Professional Edition - tracker 0000799 There's no mandate to keep the Professional Edition free/open source, so the implementation is quick and easy. This request will remain open since anyone from ClearFoundation or the community can still take the time to implement the feature request. |
