Summary | 0002671: Text-based install not functional
Description | The text-based install is not functional. This install mode should either be disabled or fixed. Reported via e-mail: The problem I'm experiencing with Text-based installation is that it does not install the full set (or even the necessary set) of utilities and packages. When the GUI runs it installs 400 something packages during the installation process. The Text-based installation installs a measly 142. This does not include Yum, which makes it impossible to rectify this issue when the system does boot. It's also missing basic Linux utilities like Man and Apropos. This can be replicated in a VM by artificially limiting the amount of available RAM to 512MB. This will cause the graphical console to fail to launch and revert to text mode, where the limited packages will be installed.
