| Description | To support a language, the following information is required for each one: - text direction - encoding - language in its native language (e.g. Français should be shown in the language selection... always) - default timezone (if known) - default keyboard (if known) - console character set - mapping to locale (fr -> fr_FR) This is a relatively straightforward task for the top 15 languages. With 80+ languages, there are many subtleties, dialects and even political decision points. Which Arabic? Which of the 3 Azerbaijani alphabets? What about cross-border languages with two large but distinct dialects? | ||||||||
