0009791: Samba sometimes (always?) fails to start on reboot
Not sure if its a race condition, but if slapd daemon is not running before smb tries to start on reboot, it will fail.

Consider adding slapd.service to the list of "After" services in /usr/lib/systemd/system/smb.service
could be a possible fix?

How would that fix work when using Samba Directory...do we have slapd running, and if not, would it break start up of Samba? AD connector is OK, since openldap still runs in this scenario, I believe.

Is the system configured as a "master"? Samba Directory is not master/slave ready, so only Standalone mode is supported at the moment.

I confused you by putting this under samba4.

Moved to samba category, as this issue is with Windows Networking failing (using Samb v4) when configured with the OpenLDAP directory.
