0000296: Trouble with WinXP clients connecting to PDC
We have a separate networks that were using SME (Centos 4) as a PDC.

We changed the PDC to COS, removed all the clients from the SME domain and re-added them back to the COS domain (which has the same domain name), installed (hacked) a custom certificate.

Now we are having issues with:
- Thunderbird erroring with "can't connect to the SMTP server" when clicking "Send" but does connect on the second attempt.
- Users profiles being "lost" at login.
- The Windows event viewer has the error "automatic certificate enrollment for local system failed to contact the active directory" every four hours like clockwork.

The best way to get this type of issue resolved is through technical support. If the problem turns out to be a software issue, we'll either file a report here or upstream.

Oh... and unlike the SME community, most bugs are usually digested through the online forums or directly with ClearCenter customers. I'm just pointing out the difference since I know a lot of communication goes on in SME's bug tracker!

I ask in the forum in parallel.

I am testing this further. I believe it is related to a botched signed certificate install.

We are planning on purchasing support when we go to 6.0. If I still have issues then I will contact support.

Thanks
