Summary | 0010981: Samba start up does not write to the "interfaces" line of smb.conf
Description | In 5.x (and probably 6.x but I've taken my server down), the "interfaces" parameter was rewritten every time samba was started. This would stop you allowing it to bind to your WAN interface. This does not happen. When there are interfaces changes e.g moving a NIC from one slot to another, adding/removing a wireless dongle etc, no changes are made to smb.conf. Changes need to be done either when starting samba or when a network change is detected. Note I have restored an smb.conf from 6.x so I don't know if a vanilla 7.x configures the line.
Steps To Reproduce | Set up samba, move an NIC from one slot to another so it gets renamed, set up the new interface, restart samba.
